Students from my Applied Investing class and from the Branding + Integrated Communications (BIC) Program at The City College of New York had an opportunity to visit with senior executives at The Estee Lauder Companies' headquarters in NYC.
Guillaume Jesel, Global President of Tom Ford Beauty, gave a comprehensive presentation of the brand's strategy and competitive positioning. It was a very unique opportunity for students to get a real world perspective on how high level strategic decisions get made in a very competitive global business environment. Tom Ford Beauty is a very important brand within The Estee Lauder Companies' portfolio of high profile brands.
Rainey Mancini, SVP of Investor Relations at The Estee Lauder Companies, provided students with a finance and capital markets perspective, and how the company thinks about generating superior shareholder returns.
Dexter King, VP, Global Fragrance Marketing and Strategy at Tom Ford Beauty, shared some very valuable career advice for students who want to pursue a career in marketing and consumer products, and provided students with an practical understanding of what it takes to be successful in this career path.
